SUPER-SIMPLE (& DELICIOUS) DEVILED EGG FILLING RECIPE “TEMPLATE”
Keto, Paleo, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Vegetarian (the basic recipe without bacon)
Deviled eggs are one of the easiest things to make, either as a quick Keto snack for yourself, or the perfect Keto party food to bring to any gathering.
After posting on IG about my first two weeks on my Carnivore Journey last week, I got a few requests to share my deviled egg recipe soooo… here it is!
A quick note about my recipes — I don’t like anything that requires more than 5-ish ingredients and complex steps, so my recipes are UBER BASIC. I work with “templates” and just change the seasonings to suit my taste buds at any given time. Here’s my basic template for deviled egg filling:
INGREDIENTS (for 1 egg, or 2 deviled egg halves)
-
-
- 1 cooked egg yolk
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 tsp avocado oil mayo
- 1 tsp olive oil
- Sea salt to taste
-
First things first, 9 times out of 10, I don’t boil the eggs myself because I’m a lazy home chef. (Hashtag Not Sorry!) One of my best Keto Pro-tips is to KEEP IT SIMPLE – don’t make this lifestyle harder than it needs to be, Fam. I keep a bag of pre-cooked hard-boiled eggs in my fridge at all times, so I can just grab one or two when I need them. Work smarter… not harder, Fam. 😉
DIRECTIONS
- Multiply the ingredients listed above by how many eggs you want to make.
- Start with your hard-boiled egg(s) and simply slice them in half, pop out the yolks, and reserve the whites to fill with your filling when you’re done.
- Mix all of the filling ingredients together and fill your cooked egg white halves – or do what I like to do – use the filling as a dip or spread on your meats!
*Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!*
Now for the fun part…
HOW TO “DRESS IT UP”:
Once again, simple simple simple. Add any seasonings and toppings that you like!
Some of my faves are…
-
-
- Garlic powder
- Truffle Salt
- Everything Bagel Seasoning
- Curry powder
- Fresh parsley, cilantro, dill, or basil
- Bacon crumbles (as seen on this version, in the featured image)
- Basically ANY seasoning from Redmond Real Salt (The garlic salt and onion salt are two of my faves, along with their garlic pepper!)
-
You can also create different flavor profiles by swapping out the regular mayo, mustard, and oil, for any of the following:
-
-
- Garlic mayo, bacon mayo (yes, that’s a thing), basil pesto mayo, or make your own mayo (it’s not as difficult as you might think!) I get my mayo from Primal Kitchen. They have lots of different yummy mayos, all made with avocado oil. My personal favorite is their Garlic Aoili Mayo — I put that ish on EVERYTHING!
- Spicy brown mustard, dijon mustard, champagne mustard, etc.
- Truffle oil, garlic or herb infused oil, or any other bougie oil that tickles your fancy!
- Reserved bacon grease, butter or ghee, or a creamy dressing or sauce like Primal Kitchen BBQ Ranch or Buffalo Sauce (two of my faves!)
-
As I continue my Carnivore Journey, I suspect these lil guys will be my constant companions… so, please share with me YOUR FAVORITE way to make deviled eggs!!
